Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Summer Term. I am looking forward to a busy and productive term. It is lovely to be with the pupils and staff again who have all worked so very hard in my absence. A lot of growing has been done by the children and they even surprise themselves with how much more they know and understand after the last 6 months. The staff have worked incredibly hard too with Mrs Blackburn leading them all so effectively and efficiently in my absence with the support of Miss James. I am very grateful to them both and in recognition of all they have achieved Mrs Blackburn has permanently been appointed Deputy Head and Miss James promoted to Senior Teacher.

For this final Summer term Mrs Garzarolli’s group will remain in their pastoral care and topic grouping under the care of Miss James. Miss Smith will be caring for the two small groups together for pastoral care and topic groupings. However the majority of the lessons will remain organised in the same way with a continued emphasis on very small groups for literacy and numeracy in the mornings.

I will maintain a teaching role taking 1:1 lessons and small group work in numeracy and literacy each day. Mrs Blackburn and Mrs Slade will continue teaching individual specialist lessons.
