Sports Relief
We are going to be taking part in this on Friday March 14th, raising money for Comic Relief.
There will be special Sports Relief socks available to buy, but we are not asking for sponsorship as we have just had the Unicef sponsored event. We would like children to
come in their own sporty clothes e.g. tracksuits, ready to take part in some sports activities. Again, we will give you more details nearer the time.
Parents’ consultation meetings
These are on Tuesday March 4th for Ms Treasure’s & Miss Smith’s classes
and Thursday March 6th for Miss James’ and Mrs Garzarolli’s classes. You can make appointments with Mrs Ingram
nearer the time.
Successful people with learning difficulties project
I have spoken in assembly about the fact that having any kind of learning difficulty need not be a
barrier to success. We have looked at all sorts of famous people who are/were dyslexic etc. We are going to do a large display, showing the different walks of life our
children could aspire to. To make it more personal, I have asked the children to find out if any friends or family have similar difficulties to them and find out what job
they do, and we will put that information on the display as well. For instance a friend of mine has a dyslexic son who manages a mobile phone shop in Swansea. It would
really help us if you could discuss this with your child, if you think it appropriate, and send the information to us via email, the home school book or verbally if your
child can manage that.
I hope you all have a very happy and restful half-term.
With very best wishes,
Liz Blackburn
